About
A guide written from the water, not a desk
Skadar Lake Guide is an independent editorial project about Lake Skadar and the Montenegrin interior. It exists because the information available to visitors was thin, repetitive and usually wrong about the details that matter — where you can actually swim, when the lilies bloom, why the 11:00 boat is the worst one to take.
Our contributors are boat skippers, guesthouse hosts, guides and photographers who live and work between Virpazar and Rijeka Crnojevica. Prices are checked in season. Routes are described as they are run, including their limits.
Editorial policy
We recommend operators and experiences we would use ourselves. Some outbound links to local operators are partner links, marked as such in the page markup; they do not change what we recommend, and no page carries more than two commercial links. If a cheaper or free option is better, we say so — the parking and swimming guides both do.
