Podgorica is the practical arrival point for the lake: the airport is 20 minutes from the city and the drive to Virpazar takes barely half an hour. Most visitors underrate the city and overrate the transfer time.

If you land before noon, a lake afternoon on the same day is entirely realistic.

  • Private transfer: 40–60 minutes door to pier; worth it if you are a group of three or more.
  • Rijeka Crnojevica alternative: 30 minutes via Cetinje road — quieter, more scenic.

No. The train to Virpazar works well, and boat departures are within walking distance of the station. A car only helps if you want Murići or the wine villages.
